- Finn McCool is a legendary giant credited,amongst other things, with creating the world-famous Giant's Causeway on Northern Ireland's north coast. An alternative version of the story says Fionn mac Cumhaill is a mythical Irish hunter-warrior, leader of the Fianna Eireann. In my part of Ireland the story of Finn is the better known, so it is his name which I have adopted.
